WEEK OF OCTOBER 19, 2014
THE APOSTLE'S CREED
I believe in God the Father Almighty
maker of heaven and earth
and in Jesus Christ, His only son, our Lord,
who was conveived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended into hell.
On the third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand
of God, the Father Almighty.
From there, He will come to judge
the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Holy Christian Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the ressurection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
TRUNK OR TREAT
On Oct 29, we will be conducting our annual TRUNK OR TREAT event in the parking lot on our AWANA night beginning at 6:30PM. This is a great way to not only treat our regular attendees but to also reach out to the neighborhood around the church. If you'd like to decorate your car and hand out treats and tracts, please register for a parking spot with Larry Jones or Terri Loomis.
NO MORE BLIND FAITH!
On November 1, from 9-NOON, we are hosting a three hour seminar entitled, "No More Blind Faith," an apologetics presentation challenging the participants to
know what they believe. Daniel Moore is the Ratio Christi representative on the campus of Western Michigan University and will, along with professors Jonathon Meyer and
Timothy McGrew, be speaking. The seminar is free, so if you would like to be a part, sign up on the bulletin board across from Pastor Jay's office.
To prepare for this event, we plan to show the film, "God's Not Dead" on Sunday night, Oct 26. If you haven't yet viewed this film, it's definitely a must see.
Elementary Release Time Bible Class
Elementary RTBC classes are starting soon and we need your help! The classes will be held once a month on Tuesdays, beginning Oct 28. Andrews Elementary will be here in the morning and Hoppin Elementary will be coming that same afternoon. We need a minimum of 4 volunteers for each group. Please sign the sheet on the bulletin board today to volunteer!
In Step Walking
Our In Step walking program begins Tuesday, Nov 4, and it continues through April. The FLC is open Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9-11AM for indoor walking.

On Sunday, Nov 9, following the 10:30 service, we will be having our Harvest Dinner in the FLC. Turkey will be provided. The cost of the meal will be one or more non-perishable food items that will be donated to our local food bank. Sign-up sheet is on our bulletin board (next to drinking fountain in foyer).
It's Samaritan's Purse time again! The collection deadline for the 2014 Christmas shoe boxes is Sunday, Nov 23. There are boxes, some small toiletries and toys that can be used in packing boxes.
